ILLUMIN by Angel Pai at the Oscars 2006: Lisa Cortes, 2026 Academy Awards

ILLUMIN by Angel Pai was worn by Lisa Cortes at the 2026 Academy Awards, where her documentary All the Empty Rooms won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature. The custom collection was created exclusively for the occasion — hand-carved quartz wings sculpted from a single crystal, quartz cluster rings, and quartz earrings. Clear quartz was chosen intentionally to amplify and reflect the light Cortes embodies. The wings, which emerged through a synchronistic vision upon first meeting, mirror a central motif woven throughout the film itself.

ILLUMIN by Angel Pai was worn by Ray Angry on the red carpet and on stage at the 2026 GRAMMY Awards, including a live performance alongside Lauryn Hill. The look was recognized by Forbes as one of the Best Men's Fashion Moments of the evening.
